Oji
Hopes to Regain Championship Touch
This
Year: This season the biggest change Oji
Seishi has made is the addition of longtime Seibu
goaltender Dusty Imoo. For a longtime goaltending
has been a weakpoint for Oji and has prevented them
from succeeding in the playoffs. Along with Imoo
Oji has a very potent offense with Parks, Saito,
Sugisawa, DF Henderson, and Keller. In the first
stage of the JIHL season the Eagles came up just
short of the title. More recently Oji has fallen
out of contention in the Asia League. Still, Oji
looks to recover and contend for the All-Japan tournament
and the 2nd stage
Last Season: The Cranes finished
a disappointing 3rd in the regular season one year
after finishing 1st. Once again the Cranes ran into
Kokudo in the playoffs and once again they failed
to find a way to get past them. |

Oji
Seishi was founded as a company team in 1925. In
1932 the team won their first All-Japan title becoming
known around the country. In total Oji has won the
All-Japan title 32 times and the JIHL championship
13 times, both the most in Japan for any team. Oji
is the only team to win 4 straight titles in the
JIHl and also when undefeated one season. The last
decade has been hard are on the Eagles as they have
failed to win the JIHL title. |
